American Cancer Society
Coaches vs. Cancer Tip-Off Madness
September 12th, 2017 from 7pm - 10pm
at the Heinz Field
For more than a century, the American Cancer Society has fought for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. By taking what we’ve learned through research and turning it into what we do, we have contributed to a 15 percent decrease in the overall cancer death rate between the early 1990s and 2005. That means that we helped avoid about 650,000 cancer deaths. Overall, 11 million cancer survivors in America will celebrate another birthday this year. Join us to celebrate each of their birthdays at the 2017 Coaches VS Cancer Tip-Off Madness!
Mingle with Pittsburgh’s NCAA Division I Basketball coaches during a cocktail reception pep rally to tip-off the basketball season! Guests will enjoy an adrenaline-charged evening that includes university-style entertainment, signature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and posh lounge areas. Local sports personalities will rev up the crowd as the coaches talk their game on the upcoming season. Through the contributions of the gala’s generous corporate partners and patrons, the American Cancer Society can continue its mission to save lives and create a world with more birthdays by helping people to stay well, get well, find cures, and fight back.
