Event Leadership
The event chairs for the Birthday Ball 2015 are Hayley and Michael Miller, who were Presenting Sponsors for the Birthday Ball 2014.  Michael is a well-regarded attorney and investor in the community, and Hayley has been a successful public relations and marketing director.  Recognized in the community for their philanthropic generosity and commitment, they are dedicated to ensuring that this year’s Birthday Ball, Soaring to New Heights, is both a festive and meaningful event for our guests and the Society.

Event History
The American Cancer Society commemorated its 100th year with more than 400 guests at the Birthday Ball 2014. The inaugural event raised more than $1 million and celebrities such as Jaclyn Smith, Colbie Caillat, and Alana Stewart were in attendance.  The event was hosted by local NBC news correspondent Miguel Almaguer, and featured live entertainment from Glee’s Amber Riley and world-renowned Beatles tribute band, The Fab Four.  Elite Media Sponsorship was provided by the Los Angeles Business Journal and the Hollywood Reporter.

American Cancer Society
Together with our millions of supporters, the American Cancer Society saves lives by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back against cancer.  Thanks in part to our work, cancer-related deaths have declined by 20 percent since the early 1990s, meaning we’ve helped save more than 1.3 million lives in the United States. We are working to finish the fight against every cancer in every community.
