Hoedown for Hope
Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club

Saturday, October 1, 2011  5:30 - 10:30 p.m.

Howdy Ya’All! Calling upon all you Cowboys & gals!

The 2011 Hoedown for Hope is just around the bend…so saddle up tight, buckle those spurs, throw on those jeans and shine in your best western attire.

The 2011Hoedown For Hope will be held on October 1, 2011 at the Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club. This annual event is one of two fundraising efforts held on Kauai to benefit the American Cancer Society in its fight against cancer. Dine on gourmet western fare, participate in live and silent auctions, show off your skills in the Old Western Town and spend the evening listening and dancing to music - all while raising money for a wonderful cause.

Headlining this year’s event are Melveen Leed and Nohelani Cypriano.  Kauai’s favorite news anchor, Keahi Tucker, will emcee the event. In addition, Larry and the Goats will shake up the dance floor with their classic rock and country music and Wally Rita and Los Kauaianos will have you “kachi kachi dancing” until the cows come home.

This year, the American Cancer Society will tip their hats to the Antone and Edene Vidinha Charitable Trust as the recipients of this year’s Hope Award for their generous donation of nearly a half million in grants to help patients on Kauai receive the care and support needed for cancer treatment. The annual Hope Award was established in memory of David Walters, for his family’s generous donation of the Infusion Center at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.  The Infusion Center was opened in 2009 just weeks after Walters ended his battle with cancer.

Our goal is to raise $65,000 to help fund cancer-related programs.  Here on Kauai, the money raised at the Hoedown For Hope gala helps patients in accessing the care and support that they need.  So get out your cowboy boots, belt up those wranglers, but leave the horses at home.  This year’s event is one you won’t want to miss!
